In Brief: Chase Starts Up Aggregation Service

NEW YORK - Making good on a plan announced in June, Chase Manhattan Corp. launched an online account aggregation service Monday.

Chase Online Plus, available for free to the company's online banking customers, gives users access to accounts they hold at Chase and other financial institutions through a single password. Customers can also use the service to view nonfinancial information, such as e-mail messages, frequent flyer mile accounts, and news.

The service was built with the help of Yodlee Inc. of Redwood City, Calif., which is working on similar services with several other large financial institutions, including Citigroup Inc., E-Trade Group Inc., and Morgan Stanley Dean Witter & Co.
