In Brief: Chase to Set Up Site with Internet Shopper

Chase Manhattan Bank said Wednesday that it would develop an Internet shopping Web site with ShopNow.com.

The customized shopping site for customers of the $360 billion-asset bank will be available through chase.com by yearend, a ShopNow.com spokeswoman said. ShopNow.com will provide electronic commerce technology and direct marketing services for the site. Chase merchant customers will have access to ShopNow.com customers.

In addition, Chase will become a "preferred provider," offering co- branded credit cards and other financial services on the Seattle-based company's shopping Web site this quarter.

Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
