Peter Arbes, a former Chemical Securities managing director, has taken over Bank of Boston's new emerging-markets securitization group.
The defection of Mr. Arbes was the latest in a string of defections in the asset-backed area for the partners in the Chase Manhattan-Chemical merger.
In addition to Mr. Arbes, Lisa Anderson, Chase's former asset-backed securities analyst, left last month to work for Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette Securities Corp. Also last month, Bruce Rigione, a top banker in Chase's origination team, left with four others to join the burgeoning asset-backed securities team at HSBC Securities, the Section 20 subsidiary of Hongkong and Shanghai Bank.
At Chemical Securities, Mr. Arbes was managing director and a senior banker in the asset-backed securities group.
With Bank of Boston, he will work with the bank's multinational and Latin American corporate clients to structure and sell asset-backed securities.
