CHICAGO - William C. Hunter, senior vice president and director of research at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, will unveil a reassessment of data from the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston's 1992 study on mortgage lending data on Wednesday.

Mr. Hunter's research indicates that race was a decisive factor in the approval rate for borrowers with marginal credit history, the Fed announcement said.
