In Brief: Client-Server Firm Signs N.J. Start-Up

ORLANDO - Phoenix International Ltd., a provider of client-server core banking software and outsourcing services, has signed Rumson-FairHaven Trust Co., a start-up bank in Fair Haven, N.J., to a three-year outsourcing deal.

Orlando-based Phoenix is to run the software from its Holbrook, N.Y., data center, which was set up late last year. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Phoenix, which has 145 bank and thrift customers, operates service bureaus in Holbrook and Miami. It is one of a handful of companies that offer core banking on client-server software, a platform that some see as an eventual successor to legacy mainframe systems.
