In Brief: Consulting Firm Picks Entrust's PKI System

American Management Systems Inc. said it has forged ties with Entrust Technologies Inc. for electronic commerce security.

Entrust/PKI, a widely used public key infrastructure system built around data encryption and digital signature technologies, will be made available to AMS clients.

"With the Entrust agreement, another important component of AMS' e- commerce strategy is placed in position," said the consulting firm's vice president and chief e-commerce officer, Reginald C. Foster.

"One instrumental step to fully realizing the potential of the Internet is the development of technologies to resolve security issues," said William Kilmartin, AMS vice president and leader of its e-commerce-in- government initiatives. "We are forming strong relationships with leading security partners like Entrust so that AMS can fulfill its mission of providing the best Internet/Web-based solutions for our clients' daily business transactions."
