In Brief: Credit Suisse Picks Development Leader

NEW YORK - Credit Suisse Asset Management LLC has hired a director of business development and client services.

In the newly created position, Whit Wannamaker works with banks, broker-dealers, financial planners, and variable annuity companies.

The goal is to get them to sell Credit Suisse's Warburg Pincus Funds, use its insurance trusts in variable annuities, and employ Credit Suisse as a fund subadviser.

Mr. Wannamaker, 42, reports to Steven B. Plump, director of marketing and sales for all financial intermediary channels.

Mr. Plump said that as Credit Suisse's business has grown, so has its need "for a senior experienced person" to focus on new business. Mr. Plump, who used to handle much of the unit's business development himself, said the appointment allows him to focus on existing client relationships.

Mr. Wannamaker was director of sales and marketing for Kview Inc., an Internet technology firm in Tampa. Before that he was a managing director for LMI Capital Management LLC.
