In Brief: Cultural Diversity Course Offered in Denver

A former IHS executive has started her own business. Sherry Koch, who had marketed IHS products, now runs a diversity training company for bankers called Evergreen Communication in Denver.

Ms. Koch's courses teach bankers how to meet fair-lending and Community Reinvestment Act requirements by better relating to customers.

Bankers are taught how to avoid stereotyping, how their behavior affects their business, and what values are held by different cultural groups. Classes include an overview of fair-lending laws.

Evergreen charges $1,500 for a full day of diversity training, and $2,000 for a day and a half. Ms. Koch recommends a class size of six to 20 people.
