In Brief: Derivatives Exec Quits At Chase Manhattan

Gregg Whittaker, managing director and global head of credit derivatives for the investment banking arm of Chase Manhattan Corp., has resigned, a spokesman for the company confirmed Friday.

Mr. Whittaker leaves the bank amid a risk-management review of the credit derivatives department. The spokesman declined to say if the departure was related to the review, and Mr. Whittaker could not be reached for comment.

Michael Zarrilli, managing director, will be acting as interim head of the department until a successor can be found, the banking company said.
