PLANO, Tex. - Electronic Data Systems Corp. has introduced a bill payment and presentment system for companies with small to midsize billing volumes.
OpenBill Express can be installed in 60 days for less than $100,000, EDS said. The data processor initially will market the service to companies that send less than two million recurring bills a month to consumers.
EDS plans to enhance OpenBill Express this year to support billing transactions between businesses. It then will begin marketing the system to larger-volume and business-to-business billers.
Since November 1997 EDS has installed 14 electronic bill payment/presentment systems for companies in various industries, a spokeswoman said. OpenBill Express was unveiled Monday.
