In Brief: Experian Names Head Of a Solutions Group

ORANGE, Calif. - The credit bureau Experian Inc. has appointed Stephen Burnside head of its decision solutions group.

Working out of Atlanta, Mr. Burnside oversees scoring, analytics, and software products, including fraud detection programs. His responsibilities include marketing, sales, and development.

Mr. Burnside had worked since 1993 for Experian International, a subsidiary of Great Universal Stores PLC, whose holdings include the outlets of the Argos Retail Group and Burberry. Before that he worked for Pitney Bowes PLC and Barclays Bank PLC in the United Kingdom.

Peg Smith, the president of Experian North America's business development group, said Mr. Burnside's appointment reflects the company's commitment to its scoring and analytics division. The company looks forward "to implementing his plans for growth," she said.
