WASHINGTON - Fannie Mae said Tuesday that chief financial officer J. Timothy Howard had joined its top-level office of the chairman.
The other members are chairman Franklin D. Raines, a vice chairman, and a vice chairwoman.
Mr. Howard is responsible for Fannie Mae's mortgage portfolio business as well as general financial and corporate interest rate risk management. He also oversees the company's debt issuance, capital account management, accounting, planning, and budgeting functions.
Net charge-offs at the Charlotte, North Carolina-based bank increased by more than 80% in the first quarter compared with a year earlier. BofA executives say that the rising losses were in line with the bank's risk appetite.
