In Brief: Fannie Adds CFO to Chairman's Office

WASHINGTON - Fannie Mae said Tuesday that chief financial officer J. Timothy Howard had joined its top-level office of the chairman.

The other members are chairman Franklin D. Raines, a vice chairman, and a vice chairwoman.

Mr. Howard is responsible for Fannie Mae's mortgage portfolio business as well as general financial and corporate interest rate risk management. He also oversees the company's debt issuance, capital account management, accounting, planning, and budgeting functions.
