In Brief: FDIC Publishes New Version of Its Manual

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. has published a revised compliance manual. The 1,400-page two-volume manual has a jazzier format that uses an "information map" to explain the exam process and guide the reader to the regulations that support each step.

The publication is "reader-friendly," said Carmen Sullivan, director of the agency's division of compliance and consumer affairs.

The cost of the publication, including all future updates, is $100. The agency plans to offer it on CD-ROM and over the Internet.
