IN BRIEF: Figures on Top Execs' Stock Sales Released

Several bankers, including State Street Corp. president and chief operating officer David Spina, have exercised options and sold significant amounts of stock in their companies recently, according to regulatory filings made available Wednesday.

At State Street, Mr. Spina cashed in 182,000 shares, worth nearly $12.8 million; vice chairman Nicholas Lobardo sold 9,800 shares, worth $681,420; and executive vice president Albert Peterson, 8,000 shares, worth $563,000, filings said. At BankAmerica Corp., vice chairman Martin Stein sold 110,000 shares for almost $10.5 million.

And at Chase Manhattan Corp., executive vice president Michael Urkowitz filed to sell 25,600 shares, worth $1.9 million; chief credit officer Robert Strong, 4,706 shares, worth $346,773; and senior vice president Anthony Horan, 4,000 shares, worth $294,000.
