Jeffrey Watson has joined First-e, the European Internet-only bank established by Enba PLC, as chief information officer.
Mr. Watson left Net.Bank of Atlanta, where he was chief lending officer and a key contributor to growth since 1997. In the time he was there, the company's market capitalization rose from $90 million to $600 million.
He is expected to develop on-line lending and other financial services for First-e and the Enba group of companies.
Before joining Net.Bank, Mr. Watson worked for Security First Network Bank and Security First Technologies as a product manager. He was previously a senior vice president at Tracy Federal Bank in California.
First-e was established by Enba in cooperation with Banque d'Escompte of France. It serves customers in the United Kingdom and plans to expand into Germany, France, Italy, and Spain by 2001.
