In Brief: Fleet Boston Names Risk Officer

BOSTON - FleetBoston Financial Monday named Vice Chairman Paul F. Hogan to the position of chief risk officer.

The banking company said Mr. Hodan, 55, would have responsibility for both credit and market risk as well as its credit approval process. He will report to chairman Terrence Murray.

A 25-year veteran of BankBoston, Mr. Hogan, currently leads the corporate and investment bank. He has extensive background in wholesale banking, and served as BankBoston's senior credit officer from 1993 to 1995.
