In Brief: Former Credit Suisse Exec Joins Steinberg

NEW YORK — William W. Priest, the former chairman of Credit Suisse Asset Management’s Americas division, has joined Steinberg Asset Management, which manages about $1 billion for institutions and high-net-worth families and individuals.

Mr. Priest, 59, joined Steinberg on March 1 as a partner and portfolio manager. He works on mid- and small-cap investments and may help the firm set a large-cap strategy, a spokesman said.

A spokeswoman for New York-based Credit Suisse Asset Management, the U.S. investment arm of Credit Suisse Group, said Mr. Priest left that firm in late February and that he will not have a successor.
