NEW YORK - Alex W. "Pete" Hart, the former president and chief executive officer of MasterCard International and former CEO of Advanta Corp., has joined the advisory board of Orbiscom Inc., a technology company that markets a system of one-time-use account numbers for Internet payments.
Orbiscom's "O-power" technology lets consumers generate a "controlled payment number" with an established dollar limit valid for all online purchases. The technology is being used in the United States by MBNA Corp. and the Discover unit of Morgan Stanley Dean Witter & Co.
