ALEXANDRIA, Va. - The Interactive Financial Exchange Forum has released the first version of a much anticipated specification that lets financial institutions, service providers, billers, and customers exchange financial data.
The forum, whose 30-plus members include banks, security firms, and vendors, introduced the specification, called Extensible Markup Language, or XML, Version 1.0.1, at its recent annual membership meeting in Boston.
The group also is working to enhance the specification so that it would add business banking functionality.
