In Brief: Freddie Names VP of Community Relations

Freddie Mac has appointed Maxine Baker Stokes vice president of community relations and executive director of the Freddie Mac Foundation.

As vice president of community relations, Ms. Stokes will coordinate corporate giving and volunteer programs. About 46% of Freddie Mac employees volunteer their time in business-school partnerships and in support of such organizations as Habitat For Humanity and Special Olympics.

As head of the foundation, which was created in 1990, she will be in charge of initiatives to serve youths and families at risk.

Ms. Stokes joined Freddie Mac in 1982. Since 1987, she has served as vice president of administration and corporate properties, taking responsibility for moving the headquarters from Washington to McLean, Va.
