In Brief: Friendly Hearing for Treasury Nominees

WASHINGTON — Deputy Treasury Secretary nominee Kenneth W. Dam and two other key Treasury nominees faced a very friendly Senate Finance Committee in a confirmation hearing Thursday.

The panel has not scheduled a vote on their confirmation. But when it does, it is expected to easily approve Mr. Dam, David D. Aufhauser for general counsel, and Michele A. Davis for assistant secretary for public affairs.

“We don’t need to stand on ceremony and take time to quiz them” since “we concluded they are able and qualified,” Sen. Jon Kyl, R-Ariz., said at the brief hearing.
