In Brief: German Investment Is Chase's First in Euros

Chase Capital Partners and a Dutch-based private equity fund have made a $13.3 million investment in Casa Reha, a German nursing home.

The investment by Chase Manhattan Corp.'s private equity arm is its first denominated in euros, the currency to which 11 European countries converted in January.

Chase has had a wholesale banking organization in Germany since 1992. Chase Capital Partners made its first investment there in 1991. The unit has $7 billion of bank capital invested or committed globally, and last year it committed more than $210 million to health-care companies worldwide.
