In Brief: Hibernia Taps Exec For Community Unit

NEW ORLEANS - Hibernia Corp. has appointed Frankie Nesbit as its community banking sales and service director.

In the newly created post, she will oversee consumer and business sales strategies. The company created the post as part of an effort begun last summer to emphasize community banking operations.

Ms. Nesbit, 47, has spent her entire 26-year career at Hibernia, most recently as president of St. Tammany Parish, north of New Orleans. She also has been a retail branch operations manager and marketing product manager.

"She understands the sales process from multiple perspectives, having started her career as a teller and progressively moved up in management over the years," said Paul J. Bonitatibus, Hibernia's chief community banking executive.

"She believes strongly in sales training that focuses on increasing product knowledge and identifying what customers truly need."

Hibernia has 263 offices in Louisiana, Texas, and Mississippi.
