In Brief: HSBC Chairman Says Buying Spree Over

LONDON - HSBC Holdings PLC, Europe's biggest banking company by market value, is not on the lookout for more big acquisitions, especially in Germany, in the aftermath of its purchase of Credit Commercial de France SA, the No. 6 French bank.

HSBC, which last year bought Republic New York Corp. and its European affiliates and has made other recent purchases, is concentrating on integrating those new businesses for now.
