GREENSBURG, Ind. Indiana United Bancorp has agreed to buy the four-office Vollmer & Associates insurance agency.
The deal is scheduled to close this quarter.
Vollmer has offices in Madison, Batesville, Osgood, and Brookville, Ind. The company, incorporated in 1996, specializes in property and casualty insurance.
It will be merged into Indiana Uniteds The Insurance Group Inc. That units gross premiums and Vollmers totaled $13 million last year.
Indiana United has assets of $1.2 billion.
The Jackson, Mississippi, company will use proceeds from the sale of its Fisher Brown Bottrell Insurance unit to restructure its investment portfolio, moving $1.6 billion of low-yield securities off the balance sheet.
