In Brief: IndyMac to Install Eastern’s Software

SHARON, Pa. — IndyMac Bank of Pasadena, Calif., is replacing its existing Windows-based loan origination software with Eastern Software Corp.’s Empower software.

IndyMac, a mortgage bank operating predominantly on the Web, holds $5 billion of assets and generates over $10 billion of annualized loan production.

Robert Dingle, chief information officer at IndyMac, said that, after “an extensive evaluation of many systems, Eastern Software was determined to be the only company that could offer us a viable, scaleable solution to drive our numerous Internet initiatives and completely support our back-office needs.”
