In Brief: InsureZone Gets Funding of $5.2M

FORT WORTH InsureZone, which enables banks, Web portals, and others to offer insurance products under their own brands online, has secured $8.2 million in funding from Buena Venture Associates.

The company has earmarked $5.6 million of the funding for technology initiatives, including the construction of a platform that will let InsureZone quote and bind small-business policies.

InsureZone sells through the Web sites of Chase Manhattan Bank, Wells Fargo & Co., and other companies. It and Buena Venture Associates are both based in Fort Worth. The new funding was announced Tuesday.
