In Brief: Intuit Adds Quicken Web Sites Abroad

Intuit Inc. said it has expanded its family of Internet sites, creating companions to its Quicken.com in several other countries.

In the last several months, consumers have gotten the ability to call Quicken.Ca in Canada, Quicken.De in Germany, Quicken.Co.Uk in the United Kingdom, and Quicken.Com.Au in Australia.

"Intuit has had an international presence for six years through our family of software products, and it only seemed natural to expand into the realm of international Internet spaces," stated Scott Cook, founder and chairman of the company.

"Our international Web sites have great potential and will continue to expand over time to meet consumer needs."

Initiatives are planned for each site. In the U.K., for example, Intuit recently established a relationship with Excite and the Financial Times to create a comprehensive consumer financial management service. It combines the Times' news coverage and analysis, Excite's navigation and personalization expertise, and Intuit's software tools and personal finance expertise.
