In Brief: Investment Web Site Teaches by Example

MILPITAS, Calif. Venture Portfolios Inc., an online investment education firm, has started a Web site to teach people how to invest through real-life examples.

The site, eFinancialProfiles.com, was launched last month. It offers 25 case studies geared to different ages, incomes, wealth levels, and investment goals, said Satya Sreenivas, Ventures founder and president.

The studies will be updated to illustrate how market conditions affect different profiles and investment products. The site, which is free, links to another Venture site, portfolioparade.com, where users can trade ideas and information.

Mr. Sreenivas said he plans to start up a third site, portfolioexchange.com, in June. It will partner with brokerage firms and money managers to automate portfolio management.
