In Brief: JPM-Chase Employees Say Service Fell

NEW YORK - Many J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. employees told an internal companywide survey that they feel customer service has slipped since Chase Manhattan Corp. bought J.P. Morgan & Co. last year, according to a recent memo to employees.

In the memo, Morgan Chase said that the number of respondents who gave a favorable rating to their departments' service fell to 60%, from 69% a few months earlier.

The company surveys its employees quarterly to assess how they feel about a variety of company-related issues.

A Morgan Chase spokesman declined to comment.
