In Brief: Lahaina Promotes 2 Mortgage Execs

ALPHARETTA, Ga. - Lahaina Acquisitions Inc. announced on Wednesday that it has promoted Cynthia A. Emerine to the presidency of its mortgage division.

Ms. Emerine is a founder of Lahaina's United Capital subsidiary. In her new post, she is to oversee three Lahaina units - United Capital, Accent Mortgage Services, and Cross Keys Capital.

She has more than 17 years of banking, commercial lending, and residential mortgage experience.

Lahaina has also promoted Forrest P. Young Jr. to the presidency of Accent Mortgage. Mr. Young had been in charge of the company's Internet initiatives. He will report to Ms. Emerine.

In addition, the company announced that it will issue up to 2,124,120 shares of common stock. Of these, 224,120 are to be given to employees as part of compensation agreements, and the rest would be available for purchase at full market value by employees, directors, and consultants.
