Outspoken analyst Thomas K. Brown was close Friday to accepting a position at Tiger Management LLC.

Reached at home, Mr. Brown, 39, said that he is considering a buy-side bank analyst position at the hedge fund managed by noted investor Julian Robertson but hasn't ruled out the possibility of a post at a brokerage firm, which he declined to identify. "Mr. Robertson invests heavily in bank stocks," Mr. Brown said.

Mr. Brown abruptly resigned from Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette on March 27 after the company hired 23 investment bankers from Union Bank of Switzerland.
