In Brief: Memo: Star Banc Execs to Get Top Firstar Jobs

The majority of the top jobs at the new Firstar Corp. will go to Star Banc Corp. executives, according to an internal company memo.

Star officials would hold 22 of the 36 top jobs at the company to be created by the merger of Star of Cincinnati and Firstar of Milwaukee, a company spokesman said Monday, confirming information in The Business Journal Serving Greater Milwaukee.

Star executives would also head operations, human resources, reporting and planning and community banking.

Among the Firstar executives left out of the lineup was chief financial officer Jeffrey Weeden, whose departure was expected. When the merger deal was announced on July 1, Star CFO David Moffett was slated to be a vice chairman of the new $38 billion-asset company.
