In Brief: Merrill’s Global Merger Co-Head Quits

Bloomberg News

WASHINGTON — Daniel Dickinson, Merrill Lynch & Co.’s co-head of global mergers and acquisitions, has quit to become a partner at Thayer Capital Partners, a Washington private-equity firm.

Mr. Dickinson, 39, was cited as the No. 6 dealmaker in Europe in 1999. He and Steven A. Baronoff became the co-heads in March, after Jack Levy moved to Goldman Sachs Group Inc.

Mr. Baronoff will now be the sole head of M&A.

Merrill’s mergers advisory business fell three spots in the industry rankings last year, to No. 5.
