In Brief: Michigan's Chemical Wraps Up Purchase

Chemical Financial Corp. has completed its acquisition of State Savings Bancorp, Caro, Mich., and its subsidiary, State Savings Bank of Caro.

The $1.6 billion-asset Chemical said the bank's new name is Chemical Bank Thumb Area, in reference to the geographical region where it is sited. The bank is Chemical's 10th subsidiary.
