In Brief: National City to Offer Biz Insurance Online

CLEVELAND National City Corp. is planning to offer business insurance online through an alliance with CoverageCorp. of Charlotte, N.C.

The alliance was announced Tuesday.

The $89 billion-asset banking company already offers personal lines online, including auto, homeowners, and term life, through an agreement with Inslogic Corp., which does not offer business lines.

CoverageCorps business insurance will be distributed at National Citys Web site through a CoverageCorp-operated call center, and by agents of National City Insurance Group Inc., the insurance subsidiary of National City.
