SAN FRANCISCO - Customers can now buy auto insurance from 12 major insurance carriers entirely online through NetInsurance.com.
The service was begun in January with fewer providers. The Web insurance agency announced it last week.
Netinsurance said consumers can get quotes and complete transactions in 15 minutes. The participating insurers are Travelers, Progressive, Hartford, Safeco, Kemper, Atlanta Casualty, CSE, Infinity, Leader, Omni Insurance Group, Orion Auto, and Windsor.
The online agency provides customer support both over the phone and online.
The service can be reached on the NetInsurance.com site or through the Web sites of banks, financial portals, and insurance agencies that use NetInsurance to provide personal lines to their customers.
Netinsurance said it plans to add other personal lines soon.
