CLEVELAND - Key Asset Management, a KeyCorp subsidiary, has renamed itself after one of its most successful products, the Victory portfolios.

Victory Capital Management, as it is now called, replaces former names for its services, including Gradison Asset Management and Key.

Richard J. Buoncore, chief executive officer of the asset management arm, said the Victory name was chosen because the brand is an asset to Key already. The management decided not to use the Key brand because it is too commonly associated with KeyCorp's retail banking operations. "Some independent consultants have a bias against banks," he said.
