In Brief: Nomura Hires Former DLJ Team

NEW YORK — Nomura Securities announced Thursday that it had hired six mortgage experts from Credit Suisse First Boston to shore up its mortgage-related securitizations operations.

The team will bolster Nomura’s securitization efforts on asset-backed securities, residential mortgages, commercial-mortgage-backed securities, collateralized bond obligations, and collateralized loan obligations, the company said.

N. Dante LaRocca, who spent nine years overseeing commercial mortgage transactions at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette Inc., which Credit Suisse bought last year, joins Nomura as a managing director in the securitization group.

He will report to David P. Jacob, the managing director in charge of the group.

Mark Brown was hired as a director of CMBS capital markets; Jeremy Stoler as a vice president of CMBS capital markets; Bruce Viergever as a vice president of commercial mortgage lending credit policy; John Tesoriero as a vice president of commercial mortgage lending administration and operations; and Michael Pryluck as a commercial mortgage lending analyst.

All six worked in commercial mortgages for Donaldson.
