In Brief: Northern Trust Hires Team from Julius Baer

LONDON - Northern Trust's global investment arm has hired an international equity team from Julius Baer Investments.

The equity team, which specializes in managing money in Europe, Australia, and the Far East, is led by Andrew Parry and includes risk analyst Chris Deazley and portfolio managers Simon Wright, Jonathan Sellers, Diane Jones, and Marina Marchand.

The team, which managed $1 billion for institutional clients at Julius Baer, will be integrated into Northern Trust Global Investments' team of international portfolio managers, who manage $1.2 billion of mutual funds and segregated accounts.

Kevin Rochford, the managing director of Northern Trust Global Investments, of London, said that the new team will complement the firm's existing team nicely. "By combining the talents and specialized expertise of members from both groups, we are supporting the continuing success of our existing products and are well positioned for the rapid development of a broad range of credible new global products," he said.
