In Brief: Nvest Plans to Add Three Stock Funds

BOSTON — CDC Asset Management’s fund unit announced Thursday that its Nvest fund family will launch three new stock funds this year, bringing its offerings to 29 in all.

The Nvest Select Fund will be a value-oriented fund focused on U.S. stocks. William Nygren and Floyd Bellman, both of Harris Associates, a subsidiary of Nvest, will manage the fund.

The Nvest Mid-Cap Growth Fund will invest in companies with market capitalizations within the range of the Russell Mid-Cap Growth Index. It will be managed by Christopher Ely, Philip Fine, and David Smith, co-managers with Loomis Sayles, a subsidiary of Nvest.

The Nvest Equity Research Fund will focus on companies earmarked by Loomis Sayles research analysts, who will manage the fund led by Lauriann Kloppenberg, director of research.

Nvest said it had not decided when it will start offering the funds. Paris-based CDC Asset Management, which has $300 billion of assets under management, bought the company last year.
