In Brief: Ohio Valley Unit to Buy 2 Huntington Branches

The lead bank of Gallipolis, Ohio-based Ohio Valley Banc Corp. said it has a deal to buy two West Virginia branches from Huntington National Bank. Terms of the deal, which is scheduled to close in the third quarter, were not disclosed.

The branches, which together have $27 million of deposits, are in Milton and in a Kroger Supermarket in Barboursville. The Huntington offices would become branches of Ohio Valley Bank, the subsidiary of $447 million-asset Ohio Valley Banc Corp.

Huntington National, the lead bank of Columbus, Ohio-based Huntington Bancshares, is leaving the Milton and Barboursville markets because they "are located outside our strategic footprint," said Douglas J. Leech, president of Huntington Banks Southeast Region.
