In Brief: Old National of Ind. to Build a $47M Home

EVANSVILLE, Ind. — Old National Bancorp announced Friday that it will build a 10-story headquarters on the same riverfront site where the bank was founded in 1834.

The $47 million project includes plans for a three-story pavilion and an “event lawn” with a 450-seat amphitheater, as well as a 753-car parking garage. Groundbreaking is scheduled for summer 2001 and construction is expected to take two years.

“This project is a tremendous vote of confidence in Old National’s future,” said Jim Risinger, its chairman and chief executive officer.
