BT Online will give clients a consolidated view of portfolio holdings. Account information from the bank is encrypted to address security concerns.
The service includes an application for evaluating investment risk and opportunity. Clients can also pull down investment research and product information.
Similarly, Mellon Bank Corp. has an on-line IRA kit for customers who want to set up individual retirement accounts through its Dreyfus funds.
Institutions that offer on-line account information and take trade orders from clients over the Internet include Jack White & Co. and Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette.
