A community bank company has opened four branches in the Portland area in buildings previously occupied by Wells Fargo & Co. branches.
Centennial Bancorp, an 11-bank holding company with $430 million of assets, leased the sites this month.
Centennial hopes to net customers who were used to banking at the Wells branches, said Michael Nysingh, a senior vice Centenniel president.
The new branches brought to six the number Centennial has in the Portland area. The company has bought land to build a seventh in the area and may expand further, Mr. Nysingh said.
