NAPA, Calif. eOne Global LP, the payments technology firm formed by First Data Corp. and iFormation Group in October, has named James L. Fox chief executive officer of its electronic government payment services subsidiary, govOne Solutions LP.
Mr. Fox spent a decade at First Data Corp.s Investor Services Group. More recently he was the chief financial officer of Gomez Inc. and the general manager of the Gomez Professional Services division.
Before that, Mr. Fox was vice chairman at PFPC Inc., the mutual fund services company of PNC Financial Services Group Inc.
eOne Global houses two operating companies govOne Solutions, for payments involving government agencies; and SurePay, for nongovernment payments. OneThe company is 75% owned by First Data, and the rest is held by iFormation, itself a partnership of Goldman Sachs Group, Boston Consulting Group, and General Atlantic Partners.
We are starting with a great platform, Mr. Fox said of his new position. This business is already a market player, with two million business customers and 40 million payments annually amounting to over $1 trillion.
Mr. Fox said his mission at govOne Solutions is to spur growth. State and local governments are moving towards electronic payments, he said. It has been slower in the government arena, but that is changing.
