In Brief: Pennsylvania Banking Secretary Resigns

ERIE, Pa. - Pennsylvania Governor Tom Ridge on Thursday announced the resignation of the state's banking secretary, David E. Zuern, effective Sept. 15.

Mr. Zuern will become president and chief operating officer of Harris Financial and Harris Savings Bank of Harrisburg.

Gov. Ridge also announced his appointment of James B. Kauffman Jr., Deputy Secretary for Depository Institutions, as Acting Secretary, also effective Sept. 15.
