In Brief: Rate on 30-Year Fixed Rises for Third Week

Fixed mortgage rates rose for the third straight week, Freddie Mac said Thursday.

The rate on a 30-year fixed-rate mortgage with one point of closing costs averaged 6.82%, up from 6.77% last week. One-point adjustable mortgage rates averaged 5.67%, up from 5.58% last week.
