In Brief: Royal Trust Licenses Software

PORTSMOUTH, N.H. - Bottomline Technologies has announced that Royal Trust, the international custody arm of Royal Bank of Canada, has licensed its electronic banking software.

Royal Trust said it selected Bottomline because the vendor's BankQuest software for custody and trade processing services can be customized to work on the Internet.

The service will be offered to Royal Trust's custody clients, including corporate and institutional fund managers, pension fund administrators, investment managers, broker-dealers, and insurance providers. These clients will have Web access to a range of custody and trust services available from Royal Trust's virtual private network.

Under terms of the agreement, Royal Trust will market its Web-based services under the ViewFinder brand. The deal will provide Royal Trust with a platform to introduce future e-commerce initiatives.
