In Brief: Sanwa Unit’s Vice Chairman to Retire

LOS ANGELES — Sanwa Bank California vice chairman Larry D. Layne will retire Dec. 31, after 37 years with the company.

Mr. Layne, who heads the $9 billion-asset banking company’s commercial banking group, will be succeeded in this role by Jeffrey P. Anderson on Jan. 1.

Mr. Anderson, who joined Sanwa last year, is to be senior executive vice president and will also join the bank’s management committee.
